BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT
Start with the problem.
Then decide what to build.
MindWorks reviews how technology supports your business today, where friction exists, what is creating unnecessary manual work, and which improvements are worth prioritizing next.
BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT
$1,950
A GOOD FIT
You know something needs to change. You are not sure what the solution is yet.
The assessment is designed for businesses where the technology problem crosses several systems, workflows, vendors, or departments and the correct next step is not obvious.
01
Too many disconnected tools
The business uses several systems, but information and workflows do not move cleanly between them.
02
Manual work keeps growing
Staff repeatedly copies data, creates records, prepares reports, follows up manually, or works around system limitations.
03
You are considering new software
The business may need a CRM, portal, application, automation, integration, or replacement platform but the right approach is unclear.
04
Infrastructure and applications overlap
Hosting, servers, applications, databases, integrations, deployment, and operational responsibilities need to be considered together.
05
Technology decisions are becoming reactive
New tools are being added as problems appear without a clear picture of how the overall technology environment should evolve.
06
You need a practical roadmap
The business needs a clear sequence of what to fix, connect, replace, automate, build, or leave alone.
WHAT WE REVIEW
Look at the business and the technology together.
The exact review depends on the business and the problem being investigated. The assessment typically focuses on the systems and workflows most relevant to the decisions you need to make.
01 / BUSINESS
Business Goals & Constraints
What the business is trying to improve, where growth is being limited, what matters operationally, and which constraints affect the solution.
02 / WORKFLOWS
Core Processes
How work moves between people, systems, customers, departments, forms, approvals, billing, and other important business steps.
03 / SYSTEMS
Existing Technology
Websites, CRM, SaaS platforms, applications, spreadsheets, payments, databases, hosting, and other systems involved.
04 / CONNECTIONS
Integrations & Data Flow
Where information originates, where it needs to go, which systems are disconnected, and where manual handoffs exist.
05 / INFRASTRUCTURE
Hosting & Technical Foundation
Infrastructure, application hosting, environments, deployment, backups, operational ownership, and relevant technical dependencies.
06 / OPPORTUNITIES
Improvement Opportunities
Identify where simplification, integration, automation, replacement, custom software, or infrastructure changes may produce meaningful value.
FROM PROBLEM TO DIRECTION
The recommendation may not be “build something new.”
The purpose of the assessment is to determine the appropriate technology direction. Sometimes the right answer is custom software. Sometimes it is integration, configuration, automation, infrastructure improvement, or simply using the existing tools better.
01
Understand
Clarify the business problem and what the technology needs to make possible.
02
Map
Map the workflows, systems, information, and dependencies involved.
03
Identify
Find friction, duplication, gaps, risks, and unnecessary manual work.
04
Recommend
Define the practical next steps and their recommended order.
05
Post-Migration Verification
Verify the live environment after cutover before treating the migration as complete.
WHAT YOU RECEIVE
A direction you can make decisions from.
The assessment is intended to turn a broad technology problem into a clearer set of priorities, recommendations, and next steps.
01
Current-State Summary
A practical summary of the relevant systems, workflows, dependencies, and current technology environment.
02
Key Friction & Gaps
Identify the most important areas where technology is creating unnecessary manual work, complexity, risk, or limitation.
03
Recommended Direction
Recommendations for what should be retained, improved, integrated, automated, replaced, migrated, or potentially built.
04
Priority Roadmap
Organize recommended work into a sensible order based on business impact, dependency, effort, and risk.
05
Next-Step Options
Define the logical next phase so you can decide whether to proceed, defer, use another vendor, or engage MindWorks for implementation.
PRIORITIZATION
Not every problem needs to be solved at once.
Recommendations should reflect what creates value now, what other work depends on, what carries operational risk, and what can reasonably wait.
01 / IMPACT
Business Impact
How much does the issue affect customers, revenue, operations, staff time, visibility, or the ability to grow?
02 / DEPENDENCY
What Comes First
Some improvements create the foundation required before other automation, software, or infrastructure work makes sense.
03 / EFFORT
Complexity & Investment
Compare the likely implementation effort against the value of solving the problem.
04 / RISK
Operational Risk
Consider reliability, unsupported systems, security exposure, dependency concentration, and business continuity.
THE ASSESSMENT PROCESS
Understand first. Recommend second.
The assessment is structured around the business problem and the technology directly connected to it.
Understand The Business
Review the problem, goals, users, constraints, operational priorities, and what the business is trying to improve.
Review The Technology
Examine the relevant workflows, systems, integrations, infrastructure, information flow, and current workarounds.
Evaluate The Options
Identify the meaningful problems and compare practical ways to address them without assuming a specific solution in advance.
Build The Roadmap
Prioritize recommendations, clarify dependencies, and define the logical next steps.
ASSESSMENT SCOPE
Strategy and direction, not implementation disguised as an audit.

FAQ
Before starting the assessment.
What if we already know what we want built?
You may not need the Business Technology Assessment. If the requirement is already clear — for example a website redesign, workflow automation, integration, portal, or cloud migration - MWorks can discuss that service directly.
Is this the same as the Website Technical Assessment?
No. The Website Technical Assessment is a focused $495 diagnostic service for a WordPress website that is broken, unstable, compromised, slow, or technically unclear. The Business Technology Assessment is broader and can span workflows, software, integrations, infrastructure, automation, and business systems.
Do we have to hire MWorks to implement the recommendations?
No. The assessment can stand on its own. If MindWorks is a fit for implementation, the next phase is scoped separately.
Will you recommend custom software?
Only when it is justified. The recommendation may instead be to keep an existing platform, configure it differently, connect systems, automate part of the workflow, change infrastructure, or simplify the process.
What access or information will you need?
It depends on the problem being assessed. Useful inputs may include workflow descriptions, screenshots, system names, application access, architecture information, examples of current reports or spreadsheets, integration details, hosting information, and discussions with the people who use the systems today.
What if the assessment finds several separate projects?
That is one reason to perform the assessment. The roadmap can separate the broader problem into logical phases so the business does not need to implement every recommendation at once.
