WEBSITES & COMMERCE / RESCUE & RECOVERY
Diagnose first.
Then decide
what to fix.
When a WordPress website is unstable, compromised, slow, broken, or technically unclear, the right first step is not guessing. MindWorks starts with a structured technical assessment to determine what is actually wrong and what should happen next.
WEBSITE TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT
$495
WHEN TO START HERE
Something is wrong. The cause is not obvious.
Website problems are often layered. A visible error may come from hosting, PHP, WordPress, plugins, the database, malware, DNS, caching, configuration, or an integration somewhere else. Fixing the symptom without understanding the environment can create a larger problem.
01
The site is broken or unstable
Pages fail, functionality stops working, errors appear, or the site behaves inconsistently.
02
The website may be compromised
Malware alerts, suspicious files, unknown users, redirects, spam, or other security concerns have appeared
03
Performance has deteriorated
The site is unexpectedly slow, resource-heavy, timing out, or difficult to administer.
04
Updates keep causing problems
WordPress, Divi, plugins, PHP, or other changes regularly break parts of the website.
05
Nobody knows how the site works
The original developer is gone, documentation is missing, and the current technical setup is unclear.
06
You do not know whether to repair or rebuild
The website has accumulated enough issues that continued patching may no longer be the best investment.
WEBSITE TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT
Find the problem before paying to fix it.
$495
MindWorks reviews the website and its technical environment, identifies the major issues, and recommends the appropriate next step
01
WordPress Environment
Review WordPress core, theme, plugins, versions, configuration, dependencies, and major technical conflicts.
02
Hosting & Server Environment
Review relevant hosting, PHP, database, resource, SSL, DNS, caching, and platform conditions that may be contributing to the problem.
03
Security Indicators
Review visible signs of compromise, suspicious files or users, outdated software, exposure, and other security concerns relevant to the site.
04
Performance & Stability
Identify major front-end, database, plugin, resource, caching, or configuration issues affecting reliability and speed.
05
Critical Functionality
Review relevant forms, WooCommerce, payments, integrations, email, scheduled tasks, or other important functionality involved in the issue.
06
Recommended Recovery Path
Receive a practical recommendation: repair the existing environment, stabilize and modernize it, or rebuild when continued repair no longer makes sense.

Repair. Stabilize. Or rebuild.

01 / REPAIR
Fix the Specific Problem
Appropriate when the environment is fundamentally sound and the issue can be corrected without unnecessary broader work.
02 / STABILIZE
Correct the Underlying Environment
Appropriate when several technical problems need to be addressed together - outdated components, hosting, security, performance, configuration, or maintenance.
03 / REBUILD
Stop Patching the Wrong Foundation
Appropriate when accumulated technical debt, poor structure, obsolete software, or business requirements make a rebuild more practical than continued repair.
THE RECOVERY PROCESS
Diagnose before changing production.
The first objective is to understand the environment and reduce the risk of
making an unstable situation worse.
Gather Access & Context
Collect the relevant WordPress, hosting, DNS, logs, backups, integrations, and information about what changed before the issue appeared.
Inspect the Environment
Review the site and technical stack to identify major causes, dependencies, risks, and evidence of broader problems.
Define the Recovery Path
Determine whether the appropriate next step is repair, stabilization, migration, cleanup, or rebuild.
Approve the Next Scope
Repair or rebuild work is quoted separately after the assessment so you can decide whether to move forward.
ASSESSMENT SCOPE
Diagnosis is not unlimited repair work.
The $495 assessment is designed to understand the website and provide a recommended path. Implementation work begins only after the findings are clear and a separate scope is approved.

FAQ
Before we diagnose the site.
Does the $495 include fixing the website?
No. The $495 covers the technical assessment and recommended recovery path. Repair, cleanup, migration, or rebuild work is quoted separately once the condition of the site is understood.
What if the website has malware?
The assessment can identify indicators of compromise and help determine the appropriate recovery path. Malware cleanup, deeper incident remediation, or rebuilding a compromised environment is scoped separately based on what is found.
Can you work on a site built by someone else?
Yes. In fact, the assessment is particularly useful when the original developer is gone or the current technical environment is poorly documented.
What access will you need?
The exact access depends on the problem, but it may include WordPress administration, hosting control panel or server access, DNS, backups, logs, database access, and credentials for relevant integrations. Only the access required for the assessment should be provided.
What if the site is completely down?
A completely unavailable business-critical site may require emergency triage before the normal assessment process. Emergency work is separately scoped and depends on access, availability of backups, and the condition of the environment.
What if rebuilding is the better option?
If continued repair would mean investing in an unstable or outdated foundation, MWorks may recommend a Website Redesign or new Business Website instead. The purpose of the assessment is to make that decision before unnecessary repair work is approved.
